A unique Pump Selector specially developed for aquatic centres
My name is Fredrik Jacobsson and I have a history of water gardening for over 12 years. I am also a computer programmer and have developed a "Pump Selector" (Pump-demo). At present time there is nothing like this on the water gardening market. Pump-demo makes it simple for both the customer and sales personal to choose pond pump.
- A calculator for filter size. Describe your pond - volume, depth, fish stock, number of plant and sunlight. The system will give you a recommendation about needed filter size, max. fish stock, needed pond turnover (circulation through the filter) and display suitable pumps.
- New and user friendly interface.
I have heard pond pump retailers give the following advice to there customers: "don't choose a too small pump". What does that mean? It's impossible to know if you are not given information about the amount of water the pump will deliver in the home pond of the customer. Most online retailers don't specify the amount of water the pumps delivers at different heights. Sometimes you cannot even find this information at the website of the manufactures. From the perspective of the customer, this is not good. It's self-evident that the customer has the right to know what he or she is buying.
The system I have developed calculates the amount of water a pump will deliver based on head of water, hose dimension and hose length (hose friction considered). The system can search the database for pumps in a specific flow range. It can rate all pumps based on the relation between power consumption and the amount of water it delivers at a specific head of water. Information about flow rate is displayed visually in a diagram. It supports both metric and imperial units. You can see all this and more in the demo.
I started developing this system for our family run water garden centre seven years ago. Now I offer it to other water gardening companies. Pump-demo increases sales, saves a lot of time and generates satisfied customers.
